I've never understood the appeal of the Metroid Games - what am I missing?

You are missing a lot! IMO its the best sci-fi platformer.

I had great fun playing this series, some amazing boss battles, unlock new weapons and abilities gaining you access to new areas of the game

Not the most challenging platformer I've ever played, but the visual style of it all more than makes up for it! It's hard not to enjoy this game just to see what the next level looks like!

Still annoyed this never came out on 3DS...
Loved it. Even the soccer mini game was enough to keep me and my friends entertained
